Beggining Piano/Keyboard Class- Students learn to read chord symbols and play major & minor chords in root position, 1st inversion, & 2nd inversion in left hand. Learn how to read music notation and play a melody in right hand. A great starter class for the complete beginner.
Piano/Keyboard Improvisation- Students learn simple improvisation using chord tones, "blue" notes, chord comping, and how to build & play a "walking" bass line. Students learn simple song forms, Blues form, rock shuffles, and how to build a solo. This class is designed for creative students with a minimum of 2 yrs. experience on piano/keyboard. Audition Required.
Songwriting/Arranging- Students learn how to write a chord progression, compose and notate a melody, and create an arrangement for their song. Designed for creative students with a minimum 2yrs. experience on piano or keyboard.
Play Piano/Keyboard & Sing- Students learn how to accompany their voice at the piano/keyboard using common chord rhythms, textures, and simple left hand bass patterns. Learn how to read major and minor chord symbols(triads) and how to play them in all three positions(Root Position, 1st Inversion, and 2nd Inversion). Students learn how to develop independence between piano playing & voice. Vocal Exercises and ear training drills will be part of the group class.
Vocal Class for Adults- Students learn proper vocal technique, breathing, ear training, and warm-ups for the voice. Learn Broadway songs, Popular Songs, & Rock tunes arranged for a group setting. Learn unison(1 Part) and 2-Part singing.
There are literally thousands of "note for note" transcriptions and arrangements of Popular Songs for our students to choose from within our very own music library. We are constanly transcribing and arranging new music for the simple reason that we love doing it!
